Hello everyone,
Here is my first log entry. Happy reading.
🖥️ WHAT’S ON THE SCREEN?
// GOODBYE ARCH!
Last week, following a heart-pounding Arch update (behold: sudo pacman -Syu), my system failed to boot and got stuck on the infamous “Loading initial ramdisk” screen. Despite my efforts to fix it via chroot with mkinitcpio and grub updates, the system refused to budge. Consequently, driven by a desire to experience the Btrfs file system and figuring “Linus must know something,” I migrated my system to Fedora. I chose KDE as my desktop environment. We are having a great start so far. Let’s see what the future holds!
🐚 WHAT’S IN THE CONSOLE?
// BROTHER MFC-1911W SETUP!
After switching to Fedora, I tried installing the drivers for my veteran Brother MFC-1911W printer using the files published on their official site. However, the so-called “installation wizard” failed to complete the setup. I found the solution by installing the LPR drivers manually before configuring CUPS. Since the printer is a relatively old model, managing the packages manually and tracking dependencies proved to be a more reliable approach.
🛠️ WHAT’S ON THE DESK?
// STM32 DIGIPEATER!
I have ordered the necessary components for building an APRS digipeater using an STM32F103X8. I hope I won’t encounter any issues during the assembly. This will be my first time working with STM32; I have no prior experience with its programming, IDE, or debugging process. This board is providing the new “adventure” I’ve been seeking after bidding farewell to Arch.
📡 WHAT’S IN THE AIR?
// ECHOLINK PROXY TESTS!
Last week, we set up an EchoLink proxy for TRAC KAPAKLI. We conducted tests during this week’s net, and they were quite successful. We saw 27 concurrent users. There were no disconnections or drops throughout the session. A total of 68 people participated in the net. Huge thanks to the Net Control Operator, TA1CPR, for conducting the session flawlessly.
🌐 WHAT’S ON THE WEB?
// WEBSITE INTERFACE UPDATED!
I have updated the theme, which I hadn’t been quite happy with since the launch. To make myself feel at home while browsing, I chose a “Raspberry Pi console” interface as my target aesthetic. Additionally, I’ve set up the necessary configuration to add weekly logs. I hope you like it!
